Partnering with Law Enforcement and the Community
The mission of the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Foundation is to support the Sheriff’s Office, its Community Policing efforts and the Volunteers In Partnership Program by raising community awareness and helping to provide programs, equipment, and training that enhance the Sheriff’s Office ability to better serve the community.
The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation formed by volunteer local citizens (business leaders) to support projects of the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. Donations made by individuals and companies fund special community programs, deputy safety, training, equipment, and new technology.
The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Foundation provides an opportunity for the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office to build stronger relationships between the agency and the citizens it serves.
The programs funded by the Foundation touch the lives of many, from young to old. The Foundation partners with community programs such as the Reserve Deputy program, Neighborhood Watch, Women Against Crime, Shop with Your Cops, and many more.
The Foundation is the only organization authorized to raise funds on behalf of the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office.
The Foundation does not fund personnel expenses, patrol vehicles, standard equipment, supplies or other items typically included in the law enforcement department budget.
The Foundation does not make telephone solicitations and neither does the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office.
